Our Story

Creating life's magic

I’m a seeker, observer and creator of life’s magic.

I lived in 2 different countries, 4 states, 1 province, 8 different homes by the time I graduated high school. Every place had its own symphony playing and I had to quickly learn how to harmonize and still try to hold my unique melody. Every person I encounter, every change in environment and every stage of life added variation to my melody.

To adapt I’ve learned to observe and see things beyond the surface, beyond the noise and beyond the circumstance. One thing I found constant was life’s magic even when the creation was different. How can a single ingredient create thousands of different dishes? How can a word share different definitions and meanings to different people? How can an object or gesture uplift and dishearten?

As a dietitian for the last 15 years, I’ve used my curiosity and observation skills to see beyond the symptoms and circumstances to help patients understand their body’s stories. To quote Albert Einstein “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.”

Every person has a story that sings its unique tune which I’ve had the privilege to witness in many different stages. I’ve seen people at the end of their lives; I’ve seen people during their prime; I’ve seen families unite during an illness; and I’ve seen people abandoned during an illness. No matter the circumstance, one thing remained constant, their unique melody wanted to be seen and heard.

I create to express my story and as a respect to the stories that I’ve heard. I turn a paper into a flower as reminder that anything can be transformed into something beautiful and an everlasting sentiment and expression of love remains beyond the natural lifecycle of a flower. I transform ingredients into edible art because I know the smile and joy it brings is as important as nutrients. In doing so, I hope to show people life’s magic and help people heal.
